This year’s theme is ‘Let’s talk Maths’ - and we’ll be joined by keynote speaker Abby Cotton (pictured, left), Maths Hub Lead at Boolean Maths Hub. Abby will be sharing her passion and expertise on the topic of, ’Oracy as a tool for more equitable classrooms’. She’ll be exploring the importance of using mathematical language confidently, as a learner; and how an oracy-rich curriculum design and pedagogy can address the disadvantage gap - securing greater equity in education.

About Abby

Abby is the Maths Hub Lead for the Boolean Maths Hub. Her ambition is for all children to develop a deep and sustainable understanding of mathematics and to experience belonging, enjoyment and success in the classroom. She promotes collaboration between educators in all settings, recognises the impact of professional development and is passionate about working together to secure greater equity through education. Before leading the Boolean Maths Hub, Abby worked as a primary school teacher, maths SLE and mastery specialist within primary, secondary and special school settings.
