In the spirit of collaboration, the Maths Hubs Network is keen to facilitate Regional ITT Providers Communities, promoting the sharing of practice, and supporting programme development aligned with teaching for mastery pedagogies alongside other key priorities in ITT.
Participants will reflect collaboratively on how best to help trainees understand the Five Big Ideas in Teaching for Mastery, so that they can develop classroom practices that allow all pupils to learn and enjoy maths.
In addition, participants will have opportunities to share research, critically analyse and evaluate practice, and consider the challenges faced by trainee teachers as they begin their careers in maths education. Together, members identify effective ways of working with trainees to address and reduce these barriers.
All DfE-accredited ITT providers can nominate participants who are responsible for leading maths provision. They will be joined by a representative from each Maths Hub’s leadership team. Participants are expected to attend all online and regional sessions and to share learning with colleagues.
The Regional ITT Providers project is fully funded by the Maths Hubs Programme and is free to state-funded institutions.
