What is Mastering Number?

Mastering Number is about putting the right foundations in place at the very start of a child's maths journey, to help build the confidence and understanding they need to support their learning, and enjoyment of maths, at every stage of their education.  Always a popular choice, this programme offers a practical approach that can have a transformational effect in the classroom.  

Mastering Number at Reception & Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2

The programme has two offers - one for Reception and Key Stage1 and one for Key Stage 2. For more information about each programme, including an overview of what's involved and who can take part, please click on the relevant links below:

  • Mastering Number at Key Stage 1 - aims to secure firm foundations in the development of good number sense for all children from Reception through to Year 1 and Year 2.
     
  • Mastering Number at Key Stage 2 - enables pupils in Years 4 and 5 to develop fluency in multiplication and division facts, and a confidence and flexibility with number that exemplifies good number sense.

All training is delivered through online, national and local workshops.
