As AMHL for Reception, you’d be part of our Maths Hub Leadership and Management team, helping to drive improvements in early maths and make a meaningful difference to children’s outcomes across the Gloucestershire and Worcestershire region.
The role offers a rare opportunity to work closely with schools, supporting high‑quality early maths provision and contributing directly to the Government’s Best Start in Life strategy. You’ll play a key part in ensuring Reception practice is inclusive, developmentally appropriate and focused on building strong mathematical foundations for every child.
For full details of the AMHL Reception role and responsibilities, including more details about release time required, see the Assistant Maths Hub Lead for Reception role summary.
The AMHL role is offered as a secondment for 20 days across the academic year in 2026/27, at an agreed day rate, paid to the seconding school/institution*. There is also the opportunity to increase this by a further 20 days, to deliver elements of the BSiL programmes run by GLOW Maths Hub. In addition to this, the successful candidate will be required to take part in up to five days training* during the Summer Term 2026 and is expected to take part in the NCETM's PD Lead or SD Lead accreditation, as required.
