Understand more about this learning difficulty and how to support students with it
Help your students develop a deep and connected understanding of maths.
Offering a host of programmes that support classroom-based and professional development, GLOW Maths could be the perfect solution. Free to all state schools in England, our activities are fully funded by the Department for Education and supported by the NCETM. There's nothing to pay!
Take part in one of our CPD programmes (i.e. Mastery Specialist, Professional Development Lead, School Development Lead) or Teaching for Mastery, and your school will receive funding to support its involvement.
If you want to improve the participation, achievement and - most importantly - the enjoyment of maths in your classroom, take a look at the opportunities available in our new GLOW Maths Hub catalogue 2023/24.
The catalogue provides an overview of each of the individual programmes we have on offer, plus quick links and QR codes to register your interest. Courses start from September/October 2023 and places will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.

Maths4All & All4Maths!
At GLOW, we believe ALL children can achieve in maths – no matter what their background, experience or individual needs. However, we know that building understanding across the classroom, and enabling every student to feel and believe that they can do maths, can be challenging.
That’s why this year’s festival theme is Maths4All & All4Maths! We’ll be exploring some of the latest thinking and approaches that support inclusivity in maths; and how, as educators, you can help drive positive outcomes for everyone in your classroom.
Headliner announced: Professor Alf Coles
We are delighted to announce Alf Coles as this year’s headline act (aka keynote speaker). Alf is a Professor of Mathematics Education at the University of Bristol and co-author of the book, ‘I CAN’T DO MATHS! Why children say it and how to make a difference’ (Bloomsbury Education).
Workshops sessions released
As a MathFest23 delegate, you’ll have the opportunity to attend a number of workshops, each focused on our Maths4All & All4Maths theme, including:

15 JUNE 2023
We're pleased to launch our latest Research & Innovation Work Group (RIWG), 'Characteristics of SEND', led by Alan Edmiston, SEND Advisor & Editor of Equals publication.
What's it all about?
This work group will support teachers and experts to consider how to create an inclusive classroom, in which all learners are engaged in mathematical thinking.
By getting involved, you'll be working with like-minded professionals - each with a passion for SEND - to develop and shape ideas and approaches to overcome barriers to mathematical understanding. As part of this group, you will take part in four sessions - including classroom observation of pupils being taught by the Work Group Lead during sessions 1 and 3.
You'll also have the opportunity to explore the recent SEND work, on lesson design and curriculum provision, which has been taking place nationally over the last couple of years; as well as having access to specific materials and guidance designed to support teachers in mainstream, special schools and alternative provision settings.
Want to get involved?
If you'd like to join our Characteristics of SEND Research & Innovation Work Group, click here to register your interest. Places are limited and will be filled on a first come, first served basis.
