Matt completed a mathematics degree, and then trained to be a teacher in 1997. Since then, he has worked in a wide variety of secondary schools, including as Head of Mathematics twice, and as an Advanced Skills Teacher with whole-school responsibility for teaching and learning. Matt spent three years with Gloucestershire Local Authority supporting both primary and secondary teachers in an advisory role, has worked with the NCETM since its inception in 2006 and has co-authored textbooks for several different publishers. Matt has long been passionate about high quality teaching and learning in mathematics, and co-founded the popular website for teachers, kangaroomaths.com, and the JustaRoo publishing company.
