Work Group Opportunities 21/22
Once again the GLOW Maths Hub will be running FREE Work Groups across the phases and across the GLOW region. All groups will be in Gloucestershire and Worcestershire unless specified. Each group is FREE to participate. Every Work Group is led by a Teacher from the GLOW area, experienced in leading maths specific CPD.
Work Groups are a model of professional and school development used in most Maths Hubs projects. These ‘projects’ – listed below – cover mathematical subject knowledge and pedagogy in all educational phases. More information can be found here and you can register your interest here.

Early Years/Primary
Understanding the Characteristics of SEND
This work group will bring special and mainstream schools together with a particular focus on improving the mathematical attainment and progress of students with Special Educational Needs, Social, Emotional and Mental Health issues (SEMH) and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
Years 5-8 Continuity
Work Groups in this project aim to strengthen the transition from Primary to Secondary school by focusing on curriculum and pedagogical continuity over years 5 to 8. Central to the Work Group is the promotion of cross phase communication between teachers to address issues of maths knowledge and learning transition and distinct from pastoral considerations. Whilst many Work Groups will focus on using multiplicative reasoning resources, work groups can explore any aspects of the KS2/3 curriculum.
